A midday departure from Bangalore typically lands in Port Blair in the mid-to-late afternoon, which generally falls after the Port Blair-Havelock government ferry's usual daily sailings. In practice, that makes an overnight in Port Blair the more comfortable, realistic plan on day one, rather than rushing for a same-day ferry that may already have left. A private ferry, booked for the following morning, keeps day two relaxed rather than rushed.
Why this differs from Delhi
The difference isn't the destination, it's simply flight timing: Delhi's current morning departure lands earlier in the day than Bangalore's current midday one. Both routes are genuinely direct; only the practical same-day-ferry math differs, and only because of when today's flights happen to depart.

Hyderabad
Hyderabad's direct route to Port Blair (IndiGo, roughly a 2 hour 30 minute non-stop) currently runs only a few days a week rather than daily. That is the one detail from Hyderabad that should shape your planning more than anything else in this article: your travel dates need to work around the specific days this route actually flies, not the other way round.
Once you are on the ground, the same same-day-ferry logic applies as for Delhi and Bangalore: it depends on your specific flight's arrival time on the day it operates, which is worth checking directly rather than assuming.

With a limited weekly schedule, it is worth locking in your Hyderabad-Port Blair flight dates before building the rest of the itinerary around them, rather than the usual order of picking dates first and finding a flight to match.
